I use hotwire, orbitz, hotels.com, priceline, etc. for US travel. Where can I get the best deals on hotels - nice hotels for a value price - for European travel? Especially England and France.(Indy Mind)

Never use a US site for bookings outside the US - generally the prices are way too high.

My next tip is -it's not the site, it's where the hotels put out the best deals that counts. So a good directory that pitches one hotels against the other can reveal some good deals and value for money.

Try European based web sites, expecially those that have last minute deals which have free inclusions. Here's some sample links with a site that also has a customer service desk in the US.
